| Q: |
Do I need ID to get a tattoo? |
| A: |
You need proof of age (over 18) in the
form of a government issued photo ID. No
ID = No tattoo. |
| Q: |
Can I get a tattoo before I'm 18? |
| A: |
Nope. No exceptions. |
| Q: |
Does it hurt? |
| A: |
Yup. It's an invasive procedure done
with needles that penetrate the first few
layers of your skin. Don't worry too much
about the pain, however, if it was really
that bad- would so many people have them? |
| Q: |
What should I know before I come to
get a tattoo? |
| A: |
Have an idea of what you want. The more
reference material you can give us the
better idea our custom artists will have
of what to draw for you. We also have an
amazingly extensive collection of art to
browse through here at the shop. |
| Q: |
What can I do physically to help myself
through the procedure? |
| A: |
Eat something. Your body will react
better on a full stomach. |
| Q: |
How do I pick an artist? |
| A: |
A reputable artist will offer a portfolio
for you to browse through to show you what
they have been tattooing lately. A quick
look over an artist's work will also show
you what their style is like. |
| Q: |
Why can't I have lots of detail in a
small tattoo? |
| A: |
Over time, skin cells migrate and will
blur details out of a tattoo, or worse
blur them into each other and create a
mess. This is why small tight lines, such
as a bar code, won't hold up over time
unless done at a reasonable size. |
| Q: |
How much do tattoos cost? |
| A: |
Our shop minimum is $40. The average
tattoo runs around $120. Size, location,
and complexity of the artwork will also
play a factor, so it is our policy to only
price in person here at the shop. |
| Q: |
Does custom work cost more? |
| A: |
No. |
| Q: |
Why aren't tattoos on the hand or foot
considered permanent? |
| A: |
Hands and feet are notorious for exfoliating
much more than the rest of the body, as
well as taking more wear and tear from
every day use. As a result, about 1 in
10 tatoos of this nature are successful.
Most require touch-ups about every 2 years,
and some will dissapear entirely. |
| Q: |
How long will my tattoo take? |
| A: |
This depends on many factors, including
how still you can sit for the procedure.
The average recommendation is that you
allow about one hour per four square inches
of tattoo. |
| Q: |
What if I no longer want my tattoo? |
| A: |
Tattooing is permanent, and even with
todays painful laser removal techniques
there is no gaurantee of successfully removing
a tattoo without leaving a scar. |
| Q: |
How do I get a discount on my tattoo? |
| A: |
Go to a discount tattoo shop. Bring your
lucky rabbits foot, you'll need it. |
| Q: |
No, seriously, tattoos seem too expensive
to me! What can I do to afford what I want?
|
| A: |
Tattoos are a luxury item. Do you really
want some discount artist scratching some
crappy design on you? Save your money,
and come get a cutting-edge professional
tattoo that will make everyone jealous! |
| Q: |
How are huge tattoos done? |
| A: |
Typically, larger tattoos are done in
stages, allowing time for the skin (and
wallet) to heal between visits. |
| Q: |
Where is the most comfortable place
to be tattooed? |
| A: |
The upper arm is generally the least
painful spot. |
| Q: |
Where is the most painful place for
a tattoo? |
| A: |
It's different for everyone, but generally
the genitals are the least comfortable
place to get a tattoo. |
